7. INCREASED COMPETITION DEMANDS CHANGE
 |
“Changing the way things are done in order to meet customer demands and increase profitability has become one of the foremost business issues of our day. In the past, change for many organizations came relatively slowly. Companies often could survive or even prosper simply by keeping their processes stable. Nowadays competition in business is stronger than ever [and] it is much more dangerous to complacently assume that continuing to do things the way they have been done in the past will lead to success. As a result…more organizations are feeling the need to improve their operations wherever they can. More executives are realizing that to beat the competition you constantly have to make things better.”
An excerpt from Six Sigma Project Management by Jeffrey N. Lowenthal.
